Lori Tsugawa Whaley is a third-generation Japanese American who grew up in a rural Caucasian community in southwest Washington State. This was still a tough time for those of Japanese descent because memories of WWII lingered, and prejudice was just another obstacle to overcome. Although a very painful experience for a young girl, something deep inside would not let the pain she felt defeat her.

Later in life when faced with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI) from two automobile accidents, this mysterious inner strength led Lori to explore her Japanese heritage. She discovered the ancient code by which her samurai ancestors lived—Bushido—the way of the warrior.
These timeless principles helped Lori in her own struggles. Her passion is to help others utilize these principles as a guide through the maze of life's challenges,
just as they did for her.
